Jewish Joke of the Week: A Painful Problem
For weeks, Morris had been suffering from a mysterious and rather alarming medical condition. Every morning, he’d sit down at the kitchen table, pour himself a fresh cup of coffee, take a sip, and immediately feel a sharp, stabbing pain in his right eye.
At first, he ignored it. But after several weeks, he decided it was time to see a doctor.
“Doctor,” Morris explained, “I’ve got a terrible problem. Every single morning, when I drink my coffee, I get this horrible pain in my eye!”
The doctor looked concerned. “Does it happen with tea?”
“Sometimes.”
“Hot chocolate?”
“That too!”
The doctor thought for a moment, then asked, “Morris, would you mind showing me exactly how you drink your coffee?”
Morris picked up the cup on the doctor’s desk and demonstrated.
The doctor watched carefully, nodded, and said, “Morris, I think I’ve found your problem.”
“Is it serious, Doctor?”
“Not at all. But next time, try taking the spoon out of the cup before you drink!”
